The prevalence of plagiocephaly, or head flattening, is on the rise. Nearly 46% of babies will experience head flattening by 7 months of age! Plagiocephaly and Torticollis are closely related and are more than just a tight neck and head flattening.

Risk factors for torticollis and plagiocephaly
How to identify side preferences and/or head flattening in your child
When to intervene to avoid gross motor delays and those expensive cranial orthoses, or helmets.
How to be successful with tummy time from day one
Modifications that can be made at home to decrease the likelihood of torticollis and plagiocephal
What can be done about torticollis and plagiocephaly

Screenings:
If you are concerned about your child’s head shape or side preference, sign up for an individualized torticollis and plagiocephaly screening. Dr. Amie will assess your baby’s developmental milestones, utilize a craniometer, goniometer, and her clinical expertise to provide an actionable plan to address your concerns.
